The development of PLCs based on the CODESYS version 3 programming environment is continued by Hitachi in the Micro-EHV+ series. The series provides compact PLCs with a format of 40 I/O and 64 I/O that are equipped as standard with a USB host function and web visualization. The various variants with relay outputs are suitable for a supply voltage of 230V AC or 24V DC; in the latter case, the choice exists between relay or transistor outputs.
The PLCs are equipped as standard with a programming memory of 1 Mbyte, and a data memory of 640 kByte non-retentive + 256 kByte retentive. The PLC is expandable to 320 I/O. As far as communication is concerned, the user can choose from Ethernet, RS-232C, USB, RS-485, USB host, a fast counter input, a pulse train input and an interrupt input.
The software is suitable for novice programmers, but due to the breadth of functionality and programming languages, experienced engineers can also use it. Furthermore, there is a choice of five programming languages according to IEC 61131-3 and several programmers can work on the same project simultaneously. The debugging and simulation options support a quick and easy commissioning. The Hitachi PLCs can be combined with the touchscreen control panels from Exor.
