Omron has released new and improved models of its popular CP1E series of programmable controllers. These PLCs are specifically designed to provide versatile and cost-effective solutions for simple applications. The new CP1E PLCs replace existing products and a 60 I/O model has been added to the range.
Other improvements include the addition of both an RS-232 serial port and an RS-485 port. This allows for easy communication with a wide range of external devices, such as HMIs, sensors, variable speed drives and weighing controllers. In addition, the new models have a reduced height compared to previous models, freeing up valuable space in control cabinets.
The new CP1E models are part of our extended CP1 PLC family, which also includes CP1L PLCs for applications requiring greater flexibility, and CP1H PLCs for use where the highest levels of performance are required.
CP1 PLCs are the perfect choice for applications where positioning is involved. Whether for conveyor control, point-to-point motion control or non-interpolated pick-and-place systems, the combination of high-speed pulse outputs, variable speed control by frequency converters, and positional feedback provides all the functionality required to implement suitable and reliable solutions.
Other key features of the new CP1E-N PLC include two high-speed outputs for controlling servo drives, six high-speed counter inputs for encoder feedback, a Modbus Easy Master for communication with all Modbus slaves and a standard USB port for easy programming.
