The Magelis SCU is specifically designed and optimized to provide the best visualization and control solution for a wide variety of applications. In addition, the Magelis SCU enables savings of 30% on installation costs and machine life cycle costs.
The Magelis SCU significantly reduces the total cost of cabling and engineering compared to a traditional solution consisting of a PLC and a terminal HMI. The Magelis SCU has all the functions necessary to control a machine or process without additional costs: TFT screen of 65,000 colours and size of 3.5 "or 5.7", as well as digital I/O (including HSC, PTO/PWM) and analogue I/O. The integration of the Magelis SCU in existing automation systems is guaranteed thanks to the variety of communication protocols and interfaces (serial port, USB, Ethernet, CANopen). Its functional and compact design allows to reduce the space inside the cabinet and makes it very suitable for applications where space is a limiting factor.
The integrated design of the Magelis SCU offers maximum functionality. Installation of the Magelis SCU controllers is easy thanks to the quick mounting options of the controller module – directly into a 22 mm diameter hole or onto a DIN rail with a remote cable (3 or 5m). I/O can be connected to a spring-clamp removable terminal block without using a screwdriver, and the display module fits into a standard size pushbutton hole, eliminating the need for additional cutouts.
The Magelis SCU offers the possibility to visualize and control from any location. With the Vijeo Design'Air mobile app, now available on App Store and Google Play, users have access to a complete overview of the application. Remote process monitoring is also possible with WebGate, via an Internet browser on a PC.
The Magelis SCU simplifies the programming and the set up of the machine with SoMachine. The users of Magelis SCU can benefit from the experience and the 'know-how' of Schneider Electric through a large group of employees, libraries and Blocks of the integrated functions in the programming software. SoMachine includes Vijeo Designer, the configuration software of terminals HMI.
